INTERNET POLICY BEDFORD COUNTY LIBRARY
PARENTS OF MINOR CHILDREN MUST ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR CHILDREN'S USE OF THE INTERNET
TIME LIMIT: 2 hours PER DAY.
THE LIBRARY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO LIMIT A PATRON'S USAGE OF THE INTERNET TO ONCE A WEEK.
RECREATION
Our intention in providing Internet access to our patrons is to make the Internet available for Informational and educational purposes. Therefore, the computers may not be used for recreational purposes, specifically chat rooms and games.
COMPUTER SETTINGS
Users may not change settings on the computers. Failure to comply could result in loss of your library privileges.
STAFF ASSISTANCE
Staff will assist library users in getting started on the Internet. However, the Library can not guarantee that Internet-trained staff will be available to assist users at all times the Library is open. Staff are not available to offer extensive explanations about the Internet. Time permitting, staff will try to answer specific questions about the Internet and offer suggestions for effective searching.
The Library does not offer e-mail accounts to library users.
CHAT ROOMS AND INSTANT MESSENGERS
Chat rooms and instant messengers are prohibited on Library computers.
PRINT-OUT
Printed Internet material is 15 cents per page.
COMPUTER VIRUS
The Library is not responsible for any viruses that are transmitted via downloaded Internet files.
PORNOGRAPHY
Use of library equipment to obtain or view obscene material, as defined by community standards, is prohibited. Such use will terminate the session.
USERS ARE HEREBY REMINDED THAT IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT ACCESS POINTS ARE REACHED.
THE LIBRARY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE AN INTERNET SESSION AT ANY TIME.
